A very small article in the New York Times written by Matthew Mirapaul reported that the San Francisco Museum has created a $50,000 Internet Art Award for an annual competition that would serve as an incentive for artists who work on canvas to trade their brushes in for the keys of a computer keyboard.
This doesn't mean that creative artists need to forsake the media they love or hopes that their work will hang in upscale galleries and museums world-wide. It does bode well, though for giving creativity room to expand into the realm of technology.
