What's Your VISION?
What did the following men have in common?
Josiah Bartlett (Physician)
George Clymer (Merchant)
William Floyd (Land Speculator)
Francis Hopkinson (Lawyer / Musician)
John Morton (Farmer)
Robert Treat Paine (Lawyer / Scientist)
They belonged to a group of 56 men including clergymen, soldiers, business
owners, judges, immigrants. The youngest in the group was 27 - the oldest 70.
These men had a vision. They gathered together on July 4th 1776 to sign the
Declaration of Independence pledging to each other "our Lives, our Fortunes and
our sacred Honor". There were no fireworks or celebration. There was work to be
done. And, they delivered on their promise, serving in the American Revolution,
sacrificing homes, property, fortunes ... even their lives.
You won't hear much about them today. But we all owe these 56 men a debt of
What's your vision? Are you taking action? Are you willing and able to do
whatever it takes to make your vision reality?
